Attention - Heating Concern
All rooms/suites are heated and all attempts are made to maintain the residence hall rooms at a reasonable temperature. Should you have a heating problem please check the following before requesting maintenance service:
1. Make sure that desks, dressers, and beds are not blocking the windows (especially in the Towers and Moore Complex) or that books, TV’s, etc. are not stored on top of the room window ledge. This will inhibit air flow which will result in heat loss.
2. Be sure that all windows are closed and locked.
If you have checked all of the above areas and you still have a concern, request service through the Web-based Maintenance Request System.
Maintenance Work Order Priorities
Emergency - No heat, no power, major leak or flood, broken window. Do not use the Request Form for emergency requests. Please contact your Residence Hall staff immediately.
Routine - Non-emergency maintenance (broken room components, such as towel bars, blinds, screens, drawer repairs). Please use the work request form for these items.
Keys / FOBs/ Cards - You must see your Hall Staff (CD / ACD) to replace Keys, Key FOBs or Key Cards.
Emergency work orders are responded as quickly as possible. Routine work orders are responded within 5 - 7 business days (Business Days are M - F). Response time may vary at the beginning of the semester due to the volume of work requests received .
Custodial Cleaning Schedules:
Residence Hall common areas and bathrooms are cleaned on a daily and/or rotational basis. Resident Hall rooms, suites, and apartments are not cleaned by the custodial staff during the academic year. Bathroom cleaning supplies (disinfectant spray, hand soap, and paper towels) are provided for student use within Neumann, Perry, Cassety and Porter Halls.
Bathroom Cleaning Schedules:
Porter / Perry / Cassety / Neumann Halls - Daily (Monday - Friday)
Towers 1 - 4 / North Wing - Once weekly
Moore Complex/STAC - Residents are responsible for cleaning their own apartments.
Weekend Services - Custodial staff are scheduled to remove trash, clean lobbies, and provide service as needed within bathrooms for Neumann, Cassety, Perry, and Porter Halls on Saturdays and Sundays. Services needed for Towers 1-4 and North Wing should be requested via your Resident Assistant or Residence Director. They will contact the appropriate custodial staff for the service request.
Custodial Supplies Available to Use
Each Resident Assistant office has equipment for your use. Light bulbs, dust pans, mops, brooms, and vacuums are available. Student identification must be left with the Resident Assistant while you borrow the items.
The best pest control is to keep your room / apartment clean. Remove trash on a daily basis to the appropriate trash location. Do not leave open food / beverage containers out for extended periods. Requests for pest control should be processed via the maintenance/custodial work order. Prior to requesting service please ensure you have removed any trash, beverage containers, and clutter that may harbor pests. Pest control services are contracted through an external contractor.
