Student Operations Assistants
The Student Operations Assistants in Residence Life are student staff who assist with the operational needs of each Residence Hall. Every residence hall on campus requires day to day tasks to be completed in order to provide the best possible experience for our residents. Student Operations Assistants will help make sure all of these tasks are completed.
We are seeking candidates who have a drive to provide the highest quality service to the campus community, making sure all tasks are completed with the highest amount of integrity and precision. As a member of the Residence Life team, Student Operations Assistants will have the opportunity to engage in ongoing leadership development as part of their employment.
Position Description
The Student Operations Assistant position provides residents on campus with excellent customer service. Student Operations Assistants work to ensure that the operational needs such as managing keys, inspecting vacant rooms, removing left behind items and more are done at the highest standards, protecting the integrity of Residence Life and Buffalo State University. Also, Student Operations Assistants participate in responsibilities that allow those living on campus to have their needs met such as reporting facility concerns to the custodial and facilities team. Staff in this role are also responsible for the health and safety of those living in the residence halls and complete weekly rounds of each building to check the status of safety equipment. In order to achieve this, Student Operations Assistants will complete a variety of administrative tasks to ensure operations run smoothly and residents have a safe and enjoyable experience.

You will also need the contact information of a Buffalo State University Professional Staff reference. This can be a professor, supervisor or someone else in a professional capacity that can speak to your abilities working with customers and guests.
Once you have prepared your answers to these questions and you have the contact information of a reference on campus, you are ready to fill out the application.
